A beautiful wedding at The Walled Garden at Cowdray

I first met Alanna + Max at a wonderful wedding I shot back in 2018 (Alanna’s step sister) and we were sat next to each other at dinner. I was totally obsessed with them, their outward obvious love for each other was infatuating and a breath of fresh air to witness. So when the enquiry came through and I was free for their date I was utterly thrilled (I think I screeched out loud). And the day did not disappoint. Full of so much love and joyful people, it was a total breeze to photograph.

The whole wedding day took place at Cowdray, with preparations taking place in The Dressing Room which overlooks the gardens (so you can do all the spying on your guests arriving!!). I think Alanna + Max’s reactions to seeing each other when Alanna walked down the aisle is possibly the best reaction I have ever seen at a wedding (obvs all captured below…!)

The confetti walk was awesome with the most beautiful brick wall and an old gate as a backdrop, one of my favourite parts of any wedding day! During the (absolutely delicious) meal there were activity sheets on each table and the answers were Alanna + Max’s favourite song names, which each table and their appointed singer then sang out loud down the mic! It was so fun and got everyone on such a high, would definitely recommend if your guests are a musical bunch!

The evening celebrations were super fun and the band had a packed out dance floor all night, what more could you want for the end of your wedding day!

Thank you so so much for choosing me to photograph your day, folks. It was so worth the wait and anticipation from back in 2018!! 🖤

A few words from Alanna + Max -

Tell me about how you met, in as little or as much detail as you like. How long were you engaged before you got married? How did you propose?!

We went to the same school! But Max was three years younger (loool) and actually in Alanna's sister and step-brother's year. We weren't friends at school (the age difference was MASSIVE in those days), but 10 years after we'd left, Alanna walked into her local coffee shop and turns out Max worked there. We quickly discovered we were both ridiculous idiots

We got engaged in Iceland right as the world was going into lockdown. Max proposed in the snow and then we went to the Blue Lagoon and there was an EARTHQUAKE while we were drinking champagne in the water and it the best thing ever.

What made you choose your wedding venue / location?

When we were looking for venues we were being realllly undecided and we booked the open day at Cowdray as a wildcard, but from the moment we walked through the door to the garden we knew it was special. Might have had something to do with the free wine they were giving out at the door, but we regret nothing!!

What made you choose me as your photographer?

We met you at Alanna's step sister's wedding in 2018, sat next to you at the dinner, and the rest is history! Alanna's lowkey been on a mission to make you her best friend ever since. You were so easy to get along with and took such beautiful photos — we wouldn't have ever considered asking anyone else!
