A Sussex wedding - Katie + Ganan

EastSussexWedding-47.jpg

Remember when weddings were allowed and we could have 15 people in the same room + workers?! It feels like forever and a day ago but I blimmin’ loved looking back through these pictures of Katie + Ganan’s gorgeous wedding from back in October and remembering how we used to socialise and have adult conversations.

Unfortunately their plans were scuppered of eloping to Vegas but I am pretty certain having a low key but incredibly beautiful day with their most favourite people made up for it in it’s own way. They got hitched at Bannatyne’s hotel in Hastings, East Sussex and spent the whole day there. The rain held off when we needed to do portraits outdoors and although the ground was a little damp underfoot, I think we made the most of what we had and their portraits are some of my favourite ever. (I think I might say that with every wedding, but I adore the cooler tones mixed with Autumnal colours!)

I loved being a part of this day, I had forgotten how special it is to witness two people entirely in love get married. I am still hopeful for 2021 and super sure that 2022 will be the year of all years but I am very grateful I still got a taste of normality in 2020 with a few small and intimate weddings too.

Here’s what Katie + Ganan had to say -

Tell me about how you met, in as little or as much detail as you like…

He proposed on my 30th birthday in Paris after a lot of red wine, to the point I had to double check that he was serious in the morning! We then went to the champs elysee to quickly get a ring before we came home. We have been engaged for 13 months now!

What made you choose your wedding venue / location?

Covid meant that we had to cancel our dream wedding in Vegas :( so we booked something that Boris would allow. We loved the gardens at Bannatynes and felt that it would make an amazing venue for a wedding in the U.K.

If you could impart any words of wisdom to a couple planning their marriage and wedding day, what would they be and is there anything you would do differently?

Go with the flow, do whatever makes you and your partner happy and don’t get so consumed with planning a wedding that you forget to laugh together every evening.

What made you choose me as your photographer?

Your photos are so unique and we felt that they capture real joy, not staged smiles. We have two young wild boys and wanted their cheekiness captured. We wanted a photographer that would capture us just as we are, but looking our best.

It was my pleasure, I hope you love and enjoy these photos! 🖤

If you are recently engaged or planning your wedding day and in search of a wedding photographer then HIII! I would love to chat with you, just drop me a message via my contact page!
